In addition to beautiful fall weather, mouth-watering dining options, and more leisurely pace, Cape Cod is the place to be this fall. The abundance of fun fall events and festivals will fill in your days with things to do and places to see. Here are some of our favorites:
October 8-14 Cape Cod Restaurant Week
The fall edition of Cape Cod Restaurant Week is a great opportunity to take advantage of the amazing value these fixed price exhibition menus deliver, and to perhaps find some new favorite spots. Some of the best restaurants from Falmouth to Provincetown will offer three- and four-course menus for $25, $30 or $35. Chatham’s most popular restaurants will also participate in Cape Cod restaurant week so make sure you reserve them in advance. Make sure you visit our favorites: Del Mar, Bistro on Main and Blue Fins.
Celebrate Columbus Day weekend on Cape Cod and take advantage of this craft fair with more than 125 venders from all over the country. Enjoy amazing live music, great local food, bonfires, contests, and the highlight of the annual Seaside Parade. While in Yarmouth, make sure you visit the Congregational Church in town, known as “the Pumpkin Church”, it offers a stunning display of pumpkins for sale.
Travel & Leisure Magazine listed Chatham as the 4th in America’s Best towns for Halloween because of this beautiful display of creative and innovative “pumpkin people”. Fashioned by local businesses, organizations or just plain folk, look for pumpkin heads and bodies dressed as pilgrims, celebrities and well-known characters. Every year the creativity of this fascinating display gets better and better. Make sure you take a picture with the pumpkin people and post it on our Facebook page for a chance to win a special prize! The display can be seen at Kate Gould Park on Chatham’s Main Street, just a short walk from the Inn.
One of the most anticipated events on Cape Cod that attracts visitors from all over the country is the Oyster Fest. Wellfleet oysters are some of the best in the country and you can try them for yourself right from the source. Besides indulging in the most amazing local seafood, there’s something for everyone. Enjoy live music, cooking demonstrations, nature walks, oyster farm tours, arts and crafts and much more.
All roads lead to Chatham on October 26th, enjoy a fun-filled day of gourmet take on street foods and authentic German favorites such as bratwurst and pretzels.
