As Spring gets closer and closer we start thinking about warm weather and all the wonderful outdoor activities we can enjoy. In Chatham, we love to watch the weather get warmer, the grass gets greener, and everyone spends more time outside. If you want to witness it for yourself, why not plan a Spring getaway to Cape Cod! There are so many amazing ways to enjoy Cape Cod during this season, especially outdoors. Read on to discover some of our favorite spring activities and start planning your visit today!

Learn more about Cape Cod in our exclusive, free Vacation Guide. We created this tool to help you find the best things to do in the area. Inside, you’ll find our recommendations for the top local restaurants, events, museums, shops, outdoor adventures, and more.

  1. Cape Cod National Seashore

One of the main reasons why spring is so exciting on Cape Cod is because the cold weather begins to wear off and you can start getting outside a lot more! It’s no secret that Cape Cod is one of the most beautiful places in America, and when the first ray of sun appears, you can go and explore the stunning beaches of the National Seashore. The National Seashore starts from Chatham and goes to the tip of the Cape, Provincetown. It’s the perfect spring activity to get some vitamin D and your steps in for the day. Walk on the miles of beaches as you gaze into the blue horizon and remember to bring your camera.

  1. Cape Cod Spring Festivals

Another reason why visiting Cape Cod in the spring is a fabulous idea is that many of the flowers are starting to bloom! Did you know, for example, that we have some of the most gorgeous gardens on Cape Cod? There’s nothing like taking a stroll with the one you love and seeing all of the beautiful spring flowers in bloom. One fantastic place to see Cape Cod spring gardens is the Heritage Museums and Gardens, especially during their Rhododendron Festival. If you would like to see more flowers, we highly recommend the Daffodil Festival on Nantucket. Held in April this festival displays the newly bloomed daffodils of the area. Brewster in Bloom is another fun three-day festival that features Spring concerts, Fine Arts & Crafts Show, the 5K Bloom Run, and the Brewster in Bloom Town Parade.

  1. Bike the Cape Cod Rail Trail

Hit the miles of bike trails on Cape Cod for spring scenery and a breath of fresh air. The Cape Cod Rail Trail follows the path of an old railroad for 25 spectacular miles. Rent a bike in Chatham and explore our beautiful town. Visit the Chatham Lighthouse, the Fish Pier, and the Monomoy  National Wildlife Refuge. Drive to Eastham and take the scenic trail to Wellfleet.  Along the way, admire salt marshes, seasonal blooms, and incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean. Many spots along the trail let you park your bike so that you can explore the area on foot and grab a bite to eat.

Now that you have a picture in mind of what Cape Cod looks like in spring, it’s time you come and see it for yourself. Treat yourself to a well-deserved getaway to our lovely town of Chatham and enjoy undisturbed peace and relaxation in the most stunning setting. You will love our charming atmosphere and elegant rooms. They all come with luxury newly renovated bathrooms and beautiful décor. Did we mention that we offer a delicious homemade breakfast daily?
